Begin with a fresh canvas
After cleansing, our Maison Skin Resurfacing Toner introduces hibiscus, fruit acids and aloe vera to your routine. Formulated for exfoliation, it helps address the surface buildup that can leave skin looking dull and feeling uneven.
Exfoliating acids encourage the shedding of dead surface cells, revealing a smoother-looking complexion. Their effect depends on the acid, concentration and formula’s pH, so gentle, appropriate use matters more than frequent application. Follow your product’s directions and let your skin’s comfort guide you.
Follow with Vitamin C: science for a radiant complexion
Next comes our Vitamin C Serum, formulated with ethyl ascorbic acid—a vitamin C derivative—alongside niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, aloe and sea buckthorn oil. This combination brings brightening care and hydration into the ritual before the richer layers.
Vitamin C has an established role in collagen biology. Collagen gives skin structural support, and vitamin C helps the enzymes involved in forming stable collagen. Its antioxidant activity also helps counter free radicals associated with environmental stress. These functions explain why vitamin C has attracted considerable interest in research on visible skin aging.
A peer-reviewed study by Humbert and colleagues, published in Experimental Dermatology in 2003, compared a cream containing 5% vitamin C with its cream base over six months. Researchers found improvements in the appearance and surface texture of sun-damaged skin on the vitamin C-treated areas.
This study supports the potential of topical vitamin C; it did not test Maison Apothecare’s serum. Our formula uses a different form of vitamin C, and results depend on the finished formulation, consistent use and individual skin.
Apply a few drops to the face and neck. Our current product directions recommend allowing ten minutes before applying the next layer.
Nourish with Healing Oil
Now comes the heart of the ritual: our iconic Healing Oil.
With avocado and argan oils, calendula, vitamin E and neroli, this botanical blend provides a rich, sensory step for skin that needs softness and moisture. Massage a few drops gently over the face and neck after your serum.
Think of this step as replenishing comfort. A supple, nourished finish brings its own kind of radiance—especially when colder weather leaves skin feeling dry or tight.
Finish with a little Magique
For skin that needs extra nourishment, finish with a thin layer of Le Magique Balm avec Immortelle, concentrating on dry areas.
Its blend includes beeswax, olive and borage oils, alongside botanicals such as chamomile, rosehip and immortelle. The beeswax provides a protective finishing layer that helps retain moisture, while the rich texture leaves skin feeling cushioned and soft.
Use only as much as your skin needs. A light touch may be enough, and some complexions will prefer the balm on selected areas rather than across the whole face.
Let consistency—and protection—complete the ritual
Introduce new products individually and patch-test first. If layering the toner and serum causes stinging, redness or dryness, separate their use and reduce exfoliation. Skin should feel comfortable throughout the routine.
Every morning, finish your skincare with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Daily sun protection is central to preventing premature skin aging. Exfoliating acids can also increase sun sensitivity, making sunscreen, protective clothing and shade especially important.
